Stephanie and Lee

I did my best to have very little expectations and an open mind when I moved to South Dakota. I quit my decently-paying counseling, office job, left my comfort zone, went out there with no job and a U-Haul to be with my partner Naomi while she finished nursing school. It took me about three months to find a job. I work for a non-profit drug and alcohol prevention agency. This is how I was to be introduced to my current employer Paula. I could not ask for a better boss and she is very supportive of my photography business as well. She introduced me to her son Lee and his fiance Stephanie, who were looking for a wedding photographer and the rest is history.

I could not have asked for a better experience shooting this wedding. Stephanie and Lee's friends and family are truly amazing and it was immediately apparent that this is a couple who have surrounded themselves with loyal friends who know what it means to have each other's back. They had friends in their wedding party whom they had known for over 20+ years and embodied what it meant to truly love each other. Here are some highlights of the day and I am so grateful for the opportunity to capture it! Congratulations you two!

No shortage of cute kids.

Kelsey, Brandon, and Sawyer.

I met Kelsey, Brandon and their daughter Sawyer in Founders Park in lovely Rapid City, South Dakota! All four of us are recent transplants to the Black Hills region and I could not have had a better time running around this lovely park with this fantastic family for my first shoot here. Sawyer was adorable in her trendy outfit, but was way more interested in exploring and adventuring than having her picture taken! We got some great shots of this little one and she definitely kept me on my toes. So great to meet you all and enjoy this warm October weather!
